Why Trackbacks are Important for Blogs ?

What are trackbacks and how we can use them ?

Using trackbacks we can announs other bloggers that we are linking from our blog to one of their articles. If you are using the old-fashioned method of sharing links it’s a less efficient method because if you use trackbacks the linked blogger will find out immediately about your article and where you’ve send a link to him , but if you just place links in your article , the other blogger will not find out about your link to his blog.

Google use the number of backlink as a sign of authority and as a singn of importance. If you receive more backlinks for an article that other article on the same topic, the article which had received more backlinks it’s ranked higher.

Here is an example of how a trackback works:

  • I’ve posted this dofollow list and other blogger had found it very interesting.
  • The other blogger writes a post on his blog about my dofollow list.
  • After the article it’s posted  I will be anounced about that post through a trackback.

There are some important benefits from using backlink bulding , benefits as like increasing traffic or branding.3 of the most important benefits are :

  1. Long term sustainability. High rankings will get your website turn out among the top sites in search engines. Consumers have more chance to see, click, and remember your link.
  2. Increase traffic. Websites and blogs are nothing without traffic. Online businesses are impossible to generate sales when the traffic is bad. Backlink building works well to increase traffic, either from search engines or direct visitors
  3. Branding. The keywords targeted in every link can serve as image building. The more people read about your brand or business, the more they remember it. You know brand awareness is vital for long term survival in business.

You can get backlinks from many diffenrent sites, you can get backlinks from social bookmarking sites, forum, other blogs or you can even buy text links. If you want to find out more about the differences betwen some backlinks , you should read Good Backlinks – Backlinks to avoid .

Those backlinks are the most valuable backlinks .

SEO Sins that will annoy your readers

It’s a myth that SEO and good content are mutually exclusive. In fact, SEO carried out properly should go hand in hand with high quality content. Remember that the fundamental aim of Google is to return good quality, relevant content. With that in mind, here are three SEO sins that a certain to annoy your readers. Avoid at all costs!

Keyword Stuffed Content

By all means, use your keywords. But never at the expense of the sense of the article! Reread anything you write and if part of it sounds unnatural because you’ve overused a keyword, take it out. Repeating the keyword to the point that your article makes no sense it is spam. Your readers will think so and so might Google.

Titles that Make no Sense

Yes, we’d all like our main keyword in our title. But your blog post’s title needn’t be nonsense just for the purpose of getting it in there. If you’re using Wordpress, you can get the SEO All in One Pack, which allows you to set a page meta title different to your blog title. This means you can leave the SEO implementation to the All in one SEO Pack and your post title can actually be informative, catchy and make sense to your readers.

Harassing Readers for Links

Believe it or not, this does happen. I was personally a regular commenter on a blog about blogging. It was one I really liked, actually, as the blogger knew exactly what she was talking about and it was written in an approachable and enjoyable manner. She did make a post requesting that her readers link to her. This is no problem. But then she individually emailed everyone who had commented on her blog to ask them to link back to her twice within a week, each email with different justification for the pleas. Not so good. There were annoyed comments from some of her regular readers. If your readers like your site enough to link to you, they’ll do it. Begging them for links it only likely to alienate them. Notice I said that I was a regular commenter? I no longer read that blog.

These are just a handful of the tactics that some webmasters employ with a view to improving their SEO campaigns, but that can in essence become harmful to the user-friendliness of the site and overall enjoyment your readers. SEO is pointless if, once you get the readers, they instantly leave your site and never return.

Great Traffic Generation Strategies

There are lots of challenges to face in the blogosphere and one of the major ones is traffic generation. The tips listed below if used properly and effectively can help you get a significant amount of traffic to your blog:
1. PAY PER CLICK: Pay per click is a method that can be used to get traffic, unlike other traffic generation strategies it only bring traffic when you have money, but what happens when you don’t? No traffic.
Some very good pay per click traffic sources are Google adwords, Yahoo search marketing, miva, looksmart.
2. PRESS RELEASES: Press releases are also a very good means of generating traffic, press releases are also like news websites and they get enough attention from journalists, and you know what it means if your press release gets picked up by a journalist? Traffic. Some tips to consider when writing a press release are:
I. Let it be newsworthy, only a newsworthy press release will get the attention of journalists.
II. Let it be short and give more insight about you; your main objective is to get traffic and you can do this by making sure your
press release gives your readers some info about your product/service/website thereby convincing them to visit your website.
III. Make sure you use your anchor text with a link back to your website in the body of the press release.
IV. Make sure your headline is catchy.
3. VIDEOS: Create high quality funny or tutorial videos and embed your link in it, try to submit the videos to as many video sites as possible. It is also important to use your desired high traffic keyword in the video title and description because this gives it more visibility when searched for in the video site.
4.BLOG CARNIVALS: I haven’t used this one yet, but it has been reported by so many successful bloggers that blog carnivals is a successful means of getting high quality traffic to your blog, i will like you to give this a trial, a good blog carnival website is blogcarnival.com

10 Ways To Optimize Your Site For Google Images

All articles that I’ve read about optimizating sites for Google Images are offering similar ideas , although a few of them do highlight some different methods of utilizing Google Image Search.

In this post,I’m going to share with you a usefull list with 10 ways to optimize your site for Google Images . Using those tips you can get more and more traffic from “Google Images Search” and after all those tips you should decide to use Google Images as a method to drive more traffic to your website.

  1. Insert keywords into your Alt Text . This is one of the most important part in optimizing your site for Image Search and as “Alt text” your should include a relevant phrase or keywords for your image and your page. Example : <img src=”filename.gif” alt=”Alt description goes here“> .
  2. Use relevant text around your images. It is recomended that descriptive text or keywords to be placed  immediatly before or after image , because this text may be considered as a description for your image.
  3. Optimize Your Title and Meta tags .Title Tag is an important Tag amongst other SEO related options, as it not only communicates the theme of your web page to the human visitors but is also considered very important by the Search Engine crawlers.Title Tag is not a Meta Tag, but nevertheless it is the most important of all Tags.
  4. Renaming your images. The first you have to do is to rename the file with proper name. “image001.jpg” or “DSC001.jpg” doesn’t make sense for the search engine. If your image it’s related to a car you should use a name for image such as “lamborghini-murcielago-side-view” or something similar.
  5. Keep the most important images close to the top headline or title
  6. Use the social photo sites.Social Photo Sites are a kind of sites where you can upload your photos and you can share them with your friends or readers.TwitPic it’s a site like this , you can upload your photo and you can share it on Twitter.
  7. Use Images about ‘Hot’ Topics. Hot topics are always changing , but some topics will remain “Hot” for a long period of time. For example “Love” it’s a hot topic and will be a long long time from now on,because “Love” it’s a highly searched word.
  8. Create a separate page and link to the page and image. Creating a separate page an link to the page and image is very important because your image will be indexed by Google such like an article. Here is an example of a page such like this.
  9. Use anchor text keywords in links to images. When you link to a specific image, use keywords instead of a generic phrase. You should use phrases like “Best SEO tactics” or “Dofollow list” instead of using “See here” or “Click here”.
  10. Check how many pictures Google had been indexed for your site.To check what images  had indexed Google for your site , you can go to : http://images.google.com and search site:yourdomain.com
