What are trackbacks and how we can use them ?
Using trackbacks we can announs other bloggers that we are linking from our blog to one of their articles. If you are using the old-fashioned method of sharing links it’s a less efficient method because if you use trackbacks the linked blogger will find out immediately about your article and where you’ve send a link to him , but if you just place links in your article , the other blogger will not find out about your link to his blog.
Google use the number of backlink as a sign of authority and as a singn of importance.If you receive more backlinks for an article that other article on the same topic,the article which had received more backlinks it’s ranked higher.
Here is an example of how a trackback works:
- I’ve posted this dofollow list and other blogger had found it very interesting.
- The other blogger writes a post on his blog about my dofollow list.
- After the article it’s posted I will be anounced about that post through a trackback.
There are some important benefits from using backlink bulding , benefits as like increasing traffic or branding.3 of the most important benefits are :
- Long term sustainability. High rankings will get your website turn out among the top sites in search engines. Consumers have more chance to see, click, and remember your link.
- Increase traffic. Websites and blogs are nothing without traffic. Online businesses are impossible to generate sales when the traffic is bad. Backlink building works well to increase traffic, either from search engines or direct visitors
- Branding. The keywords targeted in every link can serve as image building. The more people read about your brand or business, the more they remember it. You know brand awareness is vital for long term survival in business.

Three important ways for getting backlinks :
- Naturally – People with websites visit your site and link to you because you have a great site and information that people want.If you have good content on your blog, other bloggers will add you on their blogrolls or they will insert link to your blog on their posts , this is the natural way to get backlinks . Those backlinks are the most valuable backlinks .
- Article submissions – This is a growing way to generate inbound links. There are hundreds of sites that will publish your article and give you a Backlink to your webpage.You can also submit your articles on social bookmarking sites , another good way to get backlinks.Here is a list with over 101 Do Follow Social Bookmarking Sites .
- Guest Posting – Using this way to get backlinks you must work very hard , daily, you must write many articles for publishing them on other blogs.I’m also accepting Guest Posts , but first you must read the requirements.
As a conclusion,trackbacks are important for a blog because :
-Using trackbacks you can get more traffic
-Using trackbacks you can increase your Page Rank
-You can use backlinks for branding
- You can use backlinks for getting new loyal readers

Another great thing about Trackbacks is if you link to yourself in an article, you will get notified if someone scrapes your content and leaves the link intact.

I have never tried it.Does it work only between wordpress blogs, or can i get trackback from websites as well.Many a times i take picture from certain website and i give link back in the form of Source.I think i should try trackback feature.

It has never occurred to me how important backlinks are. Thanks for the different perspective. Today I learned something new about seo
Trackbacks tell me when my content is getting scraped… usually from total spam sites, and Akismit filters them to spam rather than post it on the site.
So to really use this feature, check your spam box, too.
I am currently trying to learn about trackbacks. Does the blog you are linking to & mentioning in your post automatically pick up the mention and link? How long should this take?
The page listed in CommentLuv for this comment links (at the very end of the post) to a Smithsonian blog. I have checked every few days and the link has not appeared yet.
I am just wondering if I have done this right. I would LOVE to have a link from the Smithsonian!

Previously I was receiving a lot of trackbacks from other blogs. After checking, I found that most of them are just autoblog. So I did not approve them. I was wondering if it is right decision or not? If I refuse to approve, any harm to my blog? Could anyone let me know the answer? Thanks in advance.
