Today i received more than 100 spam comments and i made some changes. No more Do Follow for everyone, don’t worry this blog remains do follow but you need to have three approved comments to get do follow link.
I even installed KeywordLuv and CommentLuv and the comments quality really low,we need to improve that.I know that i am not updating my blog daily like i should.Lately i’ve been really busy but i promise that soon this blog will be updated daily.
I want a nice blog.I am a new blogger but i have in my opinion enough internet experience,a little knowledge about SEO and link building because i had several forums few years ago.I’m ready to learn more about blogging and how to do it properly. When i am posting something i really try to provide useful information and resources and i spend a lot of time doing researches and that’s why i want that my readers to bring something to the table.
Now let’s see what kind of comments i will not approve from now on.
Crappy comments like “nice article”, “really useful information”, “thanks for the list” will not get approved anymore. Please take your time and write something useful that adds some value to that post or discussion.
That doesn’t apply to my blog only but every blog you comment on..that’s why some many blogs turn to no follow. Remember, when a blog becomes no follow you lose that backlinks and after you don’t know why your PageRank is lower or your site had a huge drop in SERPS.
From my side this blog will remain do follow forever but we need certain rules so we both can benefit.
Now is anyone mad ?

I’m doing the same today man! KeywordLuv will hopefully help me out with commentators leaving keywords instead of a name in the “Name” field! Stop by my blog later today and you can take full use of those keywords again! :]
You forgot my favorite spam that goes something like: Wow I really loved your post (like they actually read it) come check out the junk I’m selling at whatever .com. But when they make it really long hoping you won’t actually take the time to read it. Anyhow I don’t blame you it’s getting or gotten out of hand. Not sure which but either way it’s annoying.
See, that is the reason why I don’t want to show up on “Great do-follow blog lists”, the amount of meaningless, unrelated, spammy comments can get overwhelming!!! SY

Mad? No! I think you’ve got the right approach here and its the one I use too. See, my sites are all dofollow too, but I’m really strict about deleting useless comments because I’d rather have nothing than something vague that has nothing to do with the subject of a URL. Regardless of the status of links, comments that only add noise to a discussion are counter-productive because they distract from the real content.
So, what kind of annoys me, is when bloggers and forum moderators use “nofollow” or disable linking as their only solution toward fighting spam. Its like they think that as long as they don’t point to bad neighborhoods, who cares what kind of useless chatter clogs up their content? Well, I’m not going to stick around and read through all of that and try to contribute if they’re letting every +1 and “first” post take up space.

Well it`s actually very interesting about these crappy comments (”nice post”, “great list” etc.), because spammers have been and always will be.
As these short nonsense comments are removed from dofollow blogs (and nofollow blogs too). I`m sure spammers will find a way to create comments that will still be spam, but more professional. I think it`s just a meter of time when will first spam comment directories appear – a directory of ready to use comments for every category and subject…
…sounds like science fiction, I know

I think the three comments part seems fair. You have to protect yourself yet you’re still giving other people a chance. I’ll have to remember that for WHEN I start a blog. Not yet though
Since I made my blog ‘DoFollow’ couple of months ago, I suffered from the same problem which is the tax of being so. Anyway over ‘TechJaw’ there is an excellent post regarding fighting comment spam which I recommend that you check. Use the archive since it’s not a recent post.

Giving the place to express other people is really very great things you are democratic in in the nature …………..this is great contribution for our society
thannks
It’s fair 3 comments as many blog have ben overrun with only spam posting so no compaint here.
some social network that i have been registered, they did not give linkback to my link even though i already put their link
is your social bookmark can be trusted?
What do you mean by is my “social bookmark trusted” ?
though who cares?? They will continue doing that until and unless they are receiving backlinks..It shud be a conformity to write a comment for atleast 140 characters…then spammers will get a lil annoyed and they will close the site:p
I recently wrote something very similar to this, some of the “creative spammers” out there are putting a lot of time and effort into leaving spam comments. My spam comments being left on my blog have gone up about 150% from where they were six months ago.

I’ve read that article you wrote John. Anyways, 3 approved comments seems fair for everyone. I don’t think spammers will even past 2 comments

Hi, I just turned my blog dofollow and I love the additional traffic and readers. I post a request to commenters where they comment. The request is: If they were to leave keywords in their name, they need to read the post and comment on it using some of the keywords from the post. I call it “keyword exchange”. So far it works great. See how it works and how you can make your blog dofollow and keyword exchange blog: http://dofollowcool.blogspot.com

I’ve been following your articles for some time now. They are really great, and interesting reads. By the way, absolutely love KeywordLuv!
Nice Blogger, Thanks for sharing the list. I believe Digg in not do follow anymore. They have plans to change all the comment links to nofollow, and allow only certain links based on trust.
Seems you are learning! Now you have learn the art of moderating the comments that were submitted by humans and are nevertheless spam. Just think of it that each link in and via a comment equal a link you are giving away for free and a vote in Googles eyes. What do you want Google to think about you? That you vote for real, non-spammy and valuable sites or that you link to back neighborhoods. In Googles eyes you are what you link to, SY
hospitalera@Blogging´s last article – How stupid can a single spammer be?
I usually have my blogs dofollow while they’re still “young” and the amount of spammy comments is not overwhelming, but do delete every single one that looks like junk.
Only spammers will get mad. But valuable commentators will be happy. Why? There will be a good separation of geniune and false comments. For me, your move is just proper. Making a blog dofollow requires a lot of strict comment policy to balance rewarding real commentators and getting rid of spammers. I am still studying the situation now, because I am still in a dilemma between turning my blog a nofollow or dofollow blog.
Brilliant, I didn’t even know these add-ons existed! Everyone should follow your lead on this. So, question for you, is there an automated way of getting wordpress to provide do follow after three successful comments or are you doing this by hand?! I do blog now and then but I can’t say I’ve really put my head under the hood of my WP install much.
I totally agree. I am an SEO, but when I do linking I understand that you need to bring something to the table. I am constantly editing my comments, and most of them have obviously not even read the blog post. It’s quite annoying! I think that requiring 3 comments is a fantastic idea, I wondering how you will you track that though? Also I wanted to get your opinion on disqus (http://disqus.com/). I have installed the plugin on my blog, and all of my comments disappeared, have you any experience with this plugin?
thanks!

Nice blogger, why should we get mad…:) lol
We are here to give some valid comments and we will get the value back by backlinks. I really thank you from my heart to give us dofollow comments. And your promise is really encourages me. Thanks Nice blogger.
Thanks a lot for this useful info….it is really useful……lol
I can only give my opinion on whether or not I’m mad. Ok that didn’t come out quite like it sounded in my head. LOL
If I can’t manage to string together enough words in a decent enough order to outwit your spam-detector I do not DESERVE to get my comment published.
I also think 3 comments is more than fair and generous anyone that would complain about that is pretty selfish and probably not actually interested in your blog, just in a hurry to get on to the next blog.
dwippy@dofollow blog list´s last article – Blog Comments
This is a biggest reason of unlimited no follow blogs. When an idiot SEO found a blog he or she tries to comment like a spammer. They do not try to involve in the discussion. That’s why Bloggers change the state of their blogs. I am always hungry for links but at the same time I try to get involve myself in the discussion. I suggest to all other SEO’s and link builders to follow the discussion while commenting.
