One of the most popular way used by webmasters to increase their rankings is directory submissions.They submit their site to a bunch of directories but the question is : are directory submissions useful or we just waste our time?We can see all over the place guys that offer “1000 directory submissions for $x”..we really need that?
Matt Cutts explain us in the following video that most of directories are useless because they are not properly edited and their quality is low and what type of directories are seen as sources of paid links.
After seeing this video i realized that anytime a BOTW or Yahoo! Directory submission is way better than 10.000 low quality ones.

Thanks for the article. I thought that directory submits never work. Last time i did only a handful of them accepted. But after reading this post i think i will try once more for my website. And I will let you know how it goes.
